Roman Birthstone Chart

A list attributed to early-Christianized Rome. This has been much debated as the first references to this chart take place in the Feudal Ages. However, the stones are similar to the chart recorded by St. Isidore in 619 A.D. Given that bloodstone is a form of jasper, and aquamarine a beryl, and the garnet and jacinth are often conflated, the only actual difference would be the September substitution of sardonyx for the peridot of St. Isadore’s chart.

January February March April May June
Jacinth Amethyst Bloodstone Sapphire Agate Emerald

July August September October November December
