Description:This ring was created first by casting the Celtic band, and then adding the basket setting.
As this was a gift for someone very close to me who had always wanted a garnet ring, I had to choose the stone very carefully. This stone is from the Garnet Queen mine, in Idaho. It is of the almandine pyrope variety.
I cannot seem to photograph the true beauty of this ring. There is no darker blood red garnet available. This is so dark that I had to use a flash to get the color of the stone. In normal light the fiery reds leap out from deep burgundy shadows. In sunlight the stone glows red as if I sent a smoldering ember into this band.
