Description: This was my study in scrollwork. My instructor told us our scrollwork piece “had to be more than a few bits of scroll on a pendant.” My solution to this was to create this pendant that demonstrates every basic shape of scrollwork. I created an open back with more scrollwork (technically filigree), and hid a dragonfly in the center of the open back.
In all of this I set a hand cut llanoite cabochon. Llanoite is a rare stone found only around Llano, TX. Each of those bluish specks is actually bright iridescence. Because of the rarity llanoite is not commercially available, and must be hand cut.
